• A candidate who wishes to apply for the HP TET Shastri Exam must possess a Shastri degree with a minimum of 50% marks from a university or institution recognized by the Himachal Pradesh Government.

HP TET Shastri Exam Pattern:

• The HP TET Shastri Exam is a multiple-choice/objective type exam that comprises of one question paper in four different series. The paper has a total of 150 questions, each carrying one mark, and must be attempted within 150 minutes.
• A candidate must secure a minimum of 60% qualifying marks to pass the exam.
• There is no negative marking in the exam, and a candidate must choose the correct answer and shade against the appropriate choice in the OMR response sheet with a blue/black ballpoint pen. Once the answer is marked, a candidate will not have the option to change it. Therefore, before marking the circle, the correct option/answer must be ensured.

HP TET Shastri Exam Syllabus:

• The HP TET Shastri Exam syllabus consists of two sections. Section-I contains questions from the Shastri degree course, and Section-II contains questions from General Awareness, including Himachal Pradesh, Current Affairs & Environmental Studies.
• The HP TET Shastri exam will have questions on child psychology, development, pedagogy, and teaching and learning processes, which will be relevant to the educational psychology of teaching and learning for children aged 11 to 14 years. Other sections of the exam will cover topics from the syllabus prescribed by the state for classes VI to VIII, but the difficulty level and connections between topics may be up to the 10+2 level of the H.P. Board of School Education.

Validity:

• The HP TET qualifying certificate will remain valid for a lifetime, and there will be no limit on the number of attempts a person can make to obtain the certificate. Additionally, those who have already passed the TET can also appear again to improve their score.

Applicability:

• The Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is applicable to schools under the H.P./State Government/local authority mentioned in clause (i) of clause(n) of section-2 of the RTE Act, as well as schools referred to in sub-clause (ii) of sub-clause(n) of section -2 of the RTE Act in the state. Schools mentioned in sub clause (iv) of clause(n) of section-2 of the RTE Act can choose to consider either the TET conducted by the State Government or the TET conducted by the Central Government.
