  • Filling vacant positions in the Department of Elementary Education

In the Himachal Pradesh Cabinet meeting, the Cabinet decided to fill 5,291 vacant positions in the Department of Elementary Education. These positions include 2,521 JBT (Junior Basic Teacher) posts, 776 TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher) non-medical posts, 430 TGT medical posts, 1,070 TGT arts posts, and 494 Shastri posts. This decision will contribute to providing quality education to students and addressing the shortage of teachers in the state.

  • Filling dental officer positions
The Cabinet also approved the filling of 28 dental officer positions in the Department of Health Services. Additionally, two positions of District Controller, Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs were also sanctioned. These decisions will enhance the efficiency and capacity of these departments, contributing to the overall development of industries and ensuring the availability of essential commodities to the public.
  • Opening Rajiv Gandhi Government Model Day-Boarding Schools

In a significant effort to enhance the quality of education, the Cabinet has made a decision to establish Rajiv Gandhi Government Model Day-Boarding Schools in each assembly constituency throughout the state. These schools will provide quality education and holistic development opportunities to students, combining the benefits of day schools and residential schools.  To guarantee that the children receive a well-rounded education, the schools will be furnished with cutting-edge equipment, labs, libraries, and sports facilities.

  • Launching the Rajiv Gandhi Self-Employment Scheme 2023

The Rajiv Gandhi Self-Employment Scheme 2023, which aims to encourage self-employment and entrepreneurship in the state, was also made public by the Cabinet. The scheme will focus on sectors such as e-taxis, e-trucks, and e-buses, promoting sustainable transportation solutions. Additionally, a special road tax for goods carriers will be introduced to rationalize the tax structure and simplify the process for commercial vehicle owners.

  • Transferring government land for the construction of the Talwara Railway Line

To facilitate the development of transportation infrastructure, the Cabinet approved the transfer of government land for the construction of the Talwara Railway Line.   • Development plans for Hatkoti in Shimla district and Mehatpur in Una district

The Cabinet discussed proposed development plans for Hatkoti Special Area in Shimla district and Mehatpur Plan Area in Una district.
