Selection Process for IBPS Clerk Recruitment

The selection process for IBPS Clerk recruitment consists of two stages: the Online Prelims Exam and the Online Mains Exam. Candidates who successfully clear the preliminary exam will qualify for the mains exam. It is imperative for candidates to have a thorough understanding of the exam pattern and syllabus for both stages of the examination.

Preliminary Exam

The Prelims Exam is the first stage of the selection process and comprises a total of 100 questions with a maximum score of 100 marks. Candidates are allotted 60 minutes to complete the exam. Mains Exam

The Mains Exam consists of 190 questions in total, with a maximum score of 200 marks. Candidates have a duration of 160 minutes to complete the exam. The exam includes four sections: General/Financial Awareness, General English, Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude, and Quantitative Aptitude. The General/Financial Awareness section comprises 50 questions, General English has 40 questions, and Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude as well as Quantitative Aptitude sections each consist of 50 questions.

It is essential for candidates to note that negative marking is applicable in both the Preliminary and Mains exams. For every incorrect answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted from the final score.
